Websites for trade shops in Southaven and DeSoto County

A lot of Southaven shops work both sides of the state line, and their website has to make that clear. We build websites for trade shops in Southaven and DeSoto County. We're based in the Houston area, on Central Time like you, and work with you by phone, email and video.

What DeSoto County shops get called for

  • Growth. DeSoto County keeps adding homes along Goodman Road, I-269 and out toward Hernando and Olive Branch. New owners want fences, patios, landscaping and irrigation.
  • Real winters. North Mississippi gets hard freezes and ice storms the Coast never sees. That means frozen pipes, heat pump calls and limbs on roofs and lines.
  • Spring storms. Severe storms and tornado warnings come through most springs, bringing roof, gutter and tree work.

What your Southaven site should show

Say plainly which side of the line you work. If you take jobs in Memphis, Germantown or Collierville, list them and show the Tennessee license you hold for that work. Show your own job photos and your Mississippi license number too.

Licenses your site can show

In Mississippi, the State Board of Contractors (msboc.us) requires a residential license for remodeling or roofing jobs over $10,000 and for new homes over $50,000, and licenses residential electrical, plumbing and mechanical work at any amount. In Tennessee, the Board for Licensing Contractors (tn.gov/commerce/regboards/contractors) requires a home improvement license in Shelby County for jobs from $3,000 to $24,999, and a contractor license from $25,000 up.

Towns your site can list

List only where you really work. DeSoto County shops often cover Olive Branch, Horn Lake, Hernando, Walls, Nesbit, Lake Cormorant and Byhalia, and across the line Memphis, Germantown and Collierville. Each town you serve can get its own page about the work you do there.

Getting around DeSoto County

I-55, I-69, I-269 and Goodman Road decide how much ground a crew covers in a day, and Stateline Road is the edge of two sets of rules. Your site can say whether you cross into Tennessee, how far east you go toward Byhalia, and how far south toward Hernando. A caller in Collierville should know in one look whether you take jobs there.
